Meet the artist!
As long as I can remember, I loved to draw and craft. Both my parents are very
talented artists-- my dad in watercolors and wood carving and my mom in English
Smocking, embroidery, and Early American Stenciling. As much as I loved and
grew up around art, a career in International Business seemed more practical.
But after graduating from college with a degree in French and a double-minor in
German and Music, I still wasn't happy. I went back to school and earned a
Masters in Elementary Education, and then taught second grade for five years.
While in grad school, I created a children's book, illustrations and all, and
entered it into a state competition. Imagine my surprise when my book took top
honors! Years later, after I left teaching to stay home with my two boys, I
thought it would be fun to take some painting lessons. I took classes in Tole
painting and the "One Stroke" method. One thing led to another, and my little
hobby grew into a business. My annual Home Christmas Craft Shows began in 2004
and have become a local tradition.
With one son in college, another in high school, and a very supportive husband,
I have more time to devote to my passions-- painting, decoupage, creating
designs, scrapbooking, gardening and, most recently, photographing birds at my
home in Virginia.
Thank you for visiting my website. I hope you find the perfect gift and it
brings much happiness!
